# Transferring your account to a successor

> Edit the account details or create a new user with administrator rights.

If you are leaving the organisation that uses the account, or if the organisation itself changes, you can transfer the account to someone else. You can edit all the details needed for this yourself.

Transferring an account is different from giving someone else access to work in it. If you create [an extra login for a colleague](/hoe-maak-ik-voor-collegas-extra-logins-aan), an additional user is added while the account remains in your name. With a transfer, the other person takes your place. You can do this in two ways:

#### Edit the details yourself

Go to Login → My data and change the login, password and email address. You can change the name and address of the organisation under Subscription → Billing address. Enter the details of the new user there.

#### Create a new administrator

Create a new user with administrator rights. Once that person has logged in, they can delete you as a user and edit all other details.
