# Adding a sign-up checkbox for WooCommerce

> Install the WooCommerce plugin in WordPress, enter your API key and choose which list new subscribers are added to.

With the WooCommerce plugin, one of [Laposta's three WordPress plugins](/hoe-kan-ik-wordpress-koppelen-aan-laposta), you can add a checkbox to the checkout steps of your online shop. Customers who tick that checkbox are automatically added to the list you have selected in the plugin.

Make sure you install the right plugin. This is Laposta's own WooCommerce plugin, so not [Laposta Signup Basic](/installatie-van-laposta-signup-basic), which lets you place a subscribe form on your WordPress site, and not [Laposta for WooCommerce](/plugin-laposta-for-woocommerce) by Miix, which synchronises customer details and orders more extensively.

## Installing the plugin

> You can no longer install the plugin directly from WordPress by searching for 'laposta' under Plugins → Add New Plugin. Instead, download the zip file via the link in step 1.

#### Download the zip file

[Download the Laposta WooCommerce plugin](https://github.com/laposta/connect-woocommerce/archive/master.zip) from GitHub.

#### Add the plugin in WordPress

In the WordPress admin area, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin, add the zip file and click ‘Install Now’. Then follow the remaining steps in WordPress.

#### Activate the plugin

Go to ‘Plugins’, find the Laposta WooCommerce plugin in the list and click ‘Activate’ and then ‘Settings’.

## Configuring the plugin

Fill in two fields under ‘Settings’:

* The text that will appear next to the checkbox.
* Your API key. You can find this in your account on the ‘Connect’ page, see [Create an API key](/hoe-kom-ik-aan-een-api-sleutel).

Save your API key. An overview of the lists in your account will then appear. Tick the list to which the sign-ups from your online shop should be added.
