# Connecting Google Analytics to your campaigns

> Automatically add UTM codes to the links in your newsletter to measure visits from your subscribers.

Google Analytics records where traffic to your website comes from. If you want your newsletter to be counted as a source, tick the option indicating that you use Google Analytics in step 1 when creating a campaign. You do not need to configure anything else.

Laposta then automatically appends three UTM codes to every link in your newsletter and fills them in for you:

| UTM code | Value |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------------- |
| `utm_source` | `Laposta` |
| `utm_medium` | `email` |
| `utm_campaign` | the working title of this specific campaign |

Using these codes, Google Analytics recognises that a visitor arrived at your website via your newsletter.

## What will you see in Google Analytics?

You can see how often your website was visited from your newsletter. For these visitors, you can also view the number of pages per visit, the average visit duration and the bounce rate.

You can analyse this data further. If you set goals in Google Analytics, you can check how often they were achieved via your newsletter (conversion).

## What should you pay attention to when measuring in Google Analytics?

Visits from your newsletter subscribers will only appear in Google Analytics if you meet all of the following conditions:

* you ticked Google Analytics in step 1 when creating the campaign
* your newsletter contains at least one link to your website
* you use Google Analytics for the website you link to in your newsletter
* the pages you link to contain a Google Analytics tracking code
* you have selected the correct date range in Google Analytics

If the links in your newsletter no longer work properly after ticking this option, this is usually caused by your website rather than the codes.
