# Requesting a new password if you have forgotten your password

> Request an email with a reset link via the login page to reset your password.

If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it yourself. To do this, you need access to the email address associated with your login.

#### Request a new password on the login page

Go to [https://login.laposta.nl](https://login.laposta.nl) and indicate that you have forgotten your password.

#### Open the email you receive

You will now see the ‘Check your inbox’ screen. If your login exists, Laposta will immediately send an email to the email address registered with your account. This screen always appears, even if the login does not exist. In that case, no email will be sent.

#### Set a new password via the link

Click the link in the email and enter your new password in the form. It must meet [the password requirements of Laposta](/welke-eisen-stelt-laposta-aan-een-wachtwoord).

## Did not receive an email?

* First check your spam or promotions folder.
* Check whether you have entered the exact login you normally use to log in.
* If you have a custom login name instead of an email address, enter that login name. The email will then be sent to the email address associated with your account.
* If you no longer have access to that email address, contact the helpdesk at [helpdesk@laposta.nl](mailto:helpdesk@laposta.nl).

Do you still know your password and just want to change it? You can change it in your account under Login → My data, in the same place as [your login name and your email address](/waar-kan-ik-zelf-mijn-login-veranderen).
