# Setting unsubscribe reasons per list

> Configure which reasons your subscribers can choose when they unsubscribe.

Anyone who unsubscribes is subsequently shown one more page asking for their reason. Answering is not required, but in practice, a significant proportion of unsubscribers do so. Unsubscribing is a normal part of the process, and the reasons given provide a clear insight into how your newsletter is received. The link that takes your subscriber to this page is included in every newsletter by default: see [An unsubscribe link is required in a newsletter](/is-een-afmeldlink-verplicht-in-een-nieuwsbrief).

## The default reasons

Laposta displays five reasons for your subscriber to choose from. You can hide three of them yourself, two are always shown, and one allows the unsubscriber to type their own explanation.

| Reason | Hide | With remarks |
| ------------------------------------------------ | ---- | ------------ |
| The content does not (or no longer) appeal to me | Yes | No |
| I never subscribed to this newsletter | No | No |
| I already follow you through another channel | Yes | No |
| This newsletter is spam | No | No |
| Other reason, namely: | Yes | Yes |

The comments given under ‘Other reason, namely:’ can be found separately from the totals in the statistics. You can read how this works in [Viewing feedback from your subscribers](/waar-kan-ik-de-feedback-zien).

## Editing or adding reasons

You can edit the reasons per list under Subscribers → Enrich → Unsubscribe → Feedback:

* Tick the box in the ‘Inactive’ column to hide a default reason.
* Click ‘Add reason’ to create your own reason.
* Drag the rows to change the order for your subscriber.

Under ‘Unsubscribe’, you can also customise the unsubscribe page itself, for example by adding [your own logo](/kan-ik-mijn-logo-bij-het-afmeldbericht-plaatsen) to the confirmation message.

## Setting the language for the unsubscribe reasons

The reasons are shown in the language configured for your list, under Subscribers → Settings. If you work with multiple languages, you will have a separate list for each language and can add custom reasons in each language. To find out which other default texts change based on this language selection, read [Adjustments when using a different language](/welke-aanpassingen-moet-ik-maken-als-ik-een-andere-taal-gebruik).
