# Sending a notification to yourself or a colleague

> Configure which email address receives a message and what it contains as soon as a subscriber reaches this step.

With the ‘Notification’ action, you automatically send a short email to yourself or a colleague as soon as a subscriber reaches this point in your automation. If you want to send an email to the subscriber instead, use the [Send email](/verstuur-e-mail) action.

Drag the action to the desired place in your automation and click on it to fill in the fields. You can read how to build an automation and place actions in [Start your first automation](/hoe-maak-ik-een-automation).

* Under ‘Sender (email)’, enter the email address from which you are sending the message.
* Under ‘To’, enter the recipient's email address. You can enter one email address per notification block. If you want to send a message to multiple people, you can place multiple notification blocks one after the other.
* Enter the subject line under ‘Subject’ and put the content under ‘Message’. Laposta always automatically adds the subscriber data known at that moment to the message, so you do not need to include this yourself.
