# Starting an automation from another automation

> Have an automation start from another automation and configure how often a subscriber may go through it.

With this starting event, you specify that your automation may be started from another automation.

When configuring it, you choose between ‘May run multiple times’ and ‘Once per subscriber’. ‘May run multiple times’ is selected by default: this allows the same subscriber to go through the automation multiple times. If you choose ‘Once per subscriber’, a subscriber will go through the automation at most once, and subsequent start requests from other automations for that subscriber will be ignored.

Once you have added the starting event, you can have this automation started from another automation using the ‘Start automation’ block (see [Start another automation](/automation-bouwstuk-start-automation)).
