# What is the ideal width when importing a newsletter?

> Are you creating a newsletter outside of Laposta? Make sure it has a width of 600 to 620 pixels, so your subscribers do not have to scroll horizontally.

If you create a newsletter outside Laposta, its creator determines the width. It is a good idea to check this width before you [import the newsletter into Laposta](/hoe-importeer-ik-mijn-nieuwsbrief-vanaf-internet).

A width of 600 to 620 pixels is the standard for newsletters. Laposta advises against using a wider newsletter. This is because many people view their email in a preview pane alongside other columns, such as a folder list and the subject lines of other messages. This leaves less space for the newsletter itself.

By sticking to a width of 600 to 620 pixels, your subscribers will not have to scroll horizontally, as many recipients find horizontal scrolling annoying.
