# How do you come up with topics for your newsletter?

> Five set angles to come up with relevant topics for your newsletter.

If you are struggling to come up with topics, it helps to have a few set angles on hand. If you are not looking for content ideas, but rather the line your subscriber sees in their inbox, please read [Writing a subject line](/hoe-schrijf-ik-een-goede-onderwerpregel).

## Coming up with topics for your newsletter

Even if you send newsletters on a regular schedule, these five angles will give you fresh ideas time and again:

| Angle | Ideas to consider |
| ---------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Share what you have achieved | A milestone, a completed project or a new colleague. A look behind the scenes makes your organisation recognisable and personal. |
| Tie in with current events | Public holidays, seasons or developments in your industry. Whatever is happening right now is immediately relevant to your reader. |
| Zoom in on a single detail | Highlight a single product, tell the story behind a service or answer a frequently asked question. This is often more interesting than a general overview. |
| Share your knowledge | Useful tips, a step-by-step guide or a how-to that solves a problem for your reader. This helps you build trust. |
| Ask for a response | Let your readers share their opinion, vote on a new product or tell you which topics they would like to see covered. |

> **Tip**
>
> If you have a lot to share, do not put the full text in your newsletter. A short, engaging introduction with a button or link to the full article on your website keeps the newsletter clear and drives traffic to your website.

## Get a second pair of eyes on your newsletter

If you are still stuck, the helpdesk ([helpdesk@laposta.nl](mailto:helpdesk@laposta.nl)) will be happy to help you brainstorm about the content of your newsletter.

If you already have a draft, you can use [Fresh view](/hoe-werkt-frisse-blik) in step 4 of the editor. You can submit your campaign there and within a few minutes you will receive an analysis with practical tips on the design, content and persuasiveness.
