# What can you do with conditional content?

> See how to configure conditional content for a postcode area or based on a multiple-choice field, for example.

You can apply [conditional content](/kan-ik-conditionele-inhoud-plaatsen-in-mijn-campagne) in all kinds of ways, as long as the attribute you are selecting on is stored for the subscribers in your list.

## Showing different text for each postal code area

Suppose you are a local council and want to provide residents in a specific postal code area with their own explanation, for example about roadworks with schedules that vary by area. You can create multiple text blocks and specify for each block which postal code it should be shown for.

Select the text block and set the postal code field as the condition:

Only subscribers with a postal code larger than 7201 will see this text block in their newsletter. If you use a table of contents, the item will also disappear from the ‘Content’ block for all other subscribers. If you want to make a more precise selection, enter a full postal code such as `SW1A 1AA` and specify that the field must be exactly equal to that value.

> **Tip**
>
> You can test the result by adding yourself to the list with two email addresses and entering different values in the fields for both addresses. Mark yourself as a test address and send a testmail to both addresses: you will then see the two versions side by side in your inbox.

## Selecting on a multiple choice field

Suppose you are a school and you celebrate Christmas differently for each grade: grades 1 and 2 have their own party, grades 3 to 6 have different festivities, and for grades 7 and 8 you organise something else entirely. Parents only need to read about their own children's grade. To do this, you create three versions of a text block with a button and set conditions for each block based on the multiple choice field ‘Grades’.

For the text block and button about grades 1 and 2, that field must contain the value 1 or 2. This requires two rules, both on the ‘Grades’ field using the comparison ‘contains’: one with the value 1, the other with the value 2. Click ‘Add rule’ to add the second rule and select ‘One of the rules must be met’ at the bottom of the pop-up.

For the other text blocks and buttons, you configure the conditions for the remaining grades in the same way. In the [preview](/kan-ik-van-mijn-nieuwsbrief-een-preview-zien), all of these blocks are displayed one below the other, showing [the rules that apply](/kan-ik-conditionele-inhoud-plaatsen-in-mijn-campagne) to each block, and all headings are also listed in the table of contents.

When sending, only parents with a child in grade 1 or 2 will see the top text block and its corresponding button, and only their version will include a link to that item in the table of contents. On the left you see the newsletter for a parent with children in grades 1 and 3, and on the right the one for a parent with children in grades 2 and 8:
