# Viewing the permissions of your own login

> View on the Access page which role and permissions you have in your account, and ask the administrator for changes.

What you are allowed to see and do in Laposta depends on the role you have in that account. If you have access to [multiple accounts](/kan-ik-een-gebruiker-met-een-login-toegang-geven-tot-meerdere-accounts) with the same login, your role may differ per account. You can manage this access in the [management environment](/wat-is-een-beheeromgeving), an overarching level above the accounts with its [own user management](/hoe-werkt-het-gebruikersbeheer-in-de-beheeromgeving).

If you are working with a paid account (a subscription or mailcredits), the administrator of the account can assign a role to each user, along with permissions for functionalities in the account. To find out how this works for a free account, read [Assigning a role to a user](/hoe-stel-ik-rechten-in-voor-gebruikers).

## Viewing your role and permissions

When you are logged in, the name of your role is displayed beneath the account number and your login name.

On the ‘Login’ page, you can also see your role under ‘My data’, beneath the ‘Permissions’ heading. Click on the name of your role to see which permissions are associated with it. Also view the overview of the [standard roles and associated permissions](/welke-rollen-onderscheidt-laposta-voor-gebruikers).

## Having your permissions changed

Would you like more or fewer permissions in your account? If so, contact the administrator of your account, as only an administrator can assign roles.

Are you an administrator in the account yourself? Then you have all permissions, can create new users, and can [assign roles to users](/hoe-stel-ik-rechten-in-voor-gebruikers).

> **Note**
>
> You will only lack a standard role if another user in your account previously indicated, prior to the introduction of this functionality, that you are not allowed to manage users. The administrator of your account can then assign a role to you, so that from then on you will see it immediately after logging into the account.
