# What happens to new subscriptions via your form?

> How Laposta processes subscriptions via a form, including previous unsubscribers or duplicate email addresses.

Every subscribe form you create in Laposta is linked to a single list. Anyone who completes the form is automatically added to that list. You do not need to transfer or import anything yourself.

What happens next depends on the email address entered:

| The entered address            | What happens                                                                                               |
| ------------------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Is not on your list yet        | Added as a new subscriber                                                                                  |
| Previously unsubscribed        | [Remains blocked per list](/relaties-automatisch-verwijderen-bewaartermijnen), even when subscribing again |
| Is already active on your list | Is not added again, as Laposta automatically deduplicates                                                  |

If you use [double opt-in](/moet-ik-double-opt-in-gebruiken), the subscriber is only added after clicking the link in the confirmation email.

## Connecting your own form via the API

If you design [the subscribe form entirely yourself](/kan-ik-helemaal-zelf-een-aanmeldformulier-vormgeven-optie-3), new subscribers are not added to your list automatically. In that case, you can use Laposta's API to make sure the submitted details are added to your list.
