Authenticating your domain step by step
Do you want to reduce the chances of your newsletter getting marked as spam, or does your domain use DMARC? Then you have to authenticate your domain(s) and activate it in Laposta. Here, we will show you step by step how to do this using the example 'yourdomain.com'.
1. Head to the Authentication page in your Laposta account
Go to Settings (bottom left of the screen) → Authentication. Here you will see the domain name(s) you are using as a sender address in Laposta.

2. Check out the instructions for your domain name
Click on 'Show settings'. The box will show two lines of text after the bullet points. These lines of text are automatically generated based on your domain name (below you can see the example with 'yourdomain').

Tip: if you click 'Activate' in this step, you will see even more instructions!
3. Ensure the records are added to your DNS
You now have two options:
- have the DNS settings altered by the administrator of your domain.
The administrator of your domain is usually your web builder or hosting party, and in larger organisations, the I(C)T department. Copy the two lines of text you see after the bullet points and paste this in an email to your domain admin. Ask if they can inform you when the administrator has added these lines. - add the records to the DNS yourself.
To do this, you need to have access to the DNS settings of your domain. Add the two records to your settings and save them. That can look like this, for example:

4. Activate the new settings in your Laposta account
When the records are added to the DNS of your domain, you still have to briefly activate this in your Laposta account. For this, go to Settings → Authentication. Click 'Show settings' again. Next, you will see the 'Activate' button. Click this button, and your domain will be authenticated.

You will now see a confirmation (as in the image below) that the authentication is active, and you can send campaigns from the sender address for which you have authenticated the domain.
