How do I create a good newsletter with the drag & drop editor?

Below, you will find the common method for working with a template that you have built completely by yourself. Are you using a ready-made template? Then you can use the information below to adjust your template and fill in your newsletter.

a. Structure your newsletter

We advise you to drag some blocks into your newsletter first. That helps to structure your newsletter. You can always move, copy, or remove blocks later.

Blocks are placed under each other by default. Do you want to place blocks next to each other? First, drag a Column block into your newsletter. You can then add multiple blocks into this block.

You can choose what blocks will be shown for both mobile phone display and desktop display. Click the smartphone and screen icons to define the preferred settings for each, and you can check the 'Hide this block for desktop' or 'Hide this block on mobile' boxes.

b. Define global design with a corporate style

After you have put a number of blocks in your newsletter, you format its exterior, midsection, and (optionally) the borders. For this, go to the tab 'Blocks and global design' → Global design.

c. Adjust content and layout of each block

You can click each item (block) in your newsletter. On the left side of the screen, you will see the options you can use to (further) edit the block's content, design and settings. Using the 'Design' tab, you can deviate the block's layout from the global design you set up (see point b).

d. Add, remove, or move extra blocks

If you move your cursor over the newsletter, you will see a grey bar at the top of each block. In this bar, you can find icons for moving, copying, or removing a block.

With a column block, you can find these options on the left side of the block, in a green vertical bar. The icons in the grey bars of a column block are for moving, copying, or removing individual blocks within the column block.

e. Change the preheader and footer

On the top and bottom of your newsletter you will see the preheader and the footer. The content and design of both of these can be changed by clicking the relevant item.

f. Test your newsletter with Preview and Test mail

The 'Preview' and 'Test mail' buttons are located at the top of your screen. When you click 'Preview', you can see how the newsletter will look for your subscribers. With 'Test mail', you can send the newsletter to yourself an a select number of other people, to check it.

g. Save an effective and practical template

When you are satisfied with your newsletter's structure and design, you can save your (newsletter as a) template. For this, click the 'Save as template' button on the top of your screen. By saving your template, it will be recommended to you as a Prepared template (in Step 3), the next time you create a newsletter.

h. Move on to Step 5

Are you fully content with your newsletter? Have you checked your email with one or several test mails? Click the 'To step 5' button at the top of your screen.
