Can I send an already sent newsletter to new subscribers?
Yes, in a regular campaign you can easily send a previous newsletter to subscribers who were added to the relevant list(s) after the newsletter was sent. To do this, click on the Resend link in the relevant campaign on the Campaigns page.
Identical newsletter
When resending the newsletter, you send exactly the same newsletter. You will not be able to edit it. Would you like to make some changes to your newsletter anyway? In that case it is best to start a new campaign using the link Copy in the sent newsletter.
Only to new subscribers in relevant list(s)
You can only resend your newsletter to new subscribers (read: email addresses) of the list(s) that was used with the original newsletter. Our system keeps track of which email addresses have been added to your list(s) since the last time the newsletter was sent. Removing and adding the same email address in the meantime makes no sense for resending the newsletter.
A newsletter can be resent several times.
Resending when using segments
If you have sent your newsletter to one or more segments, you will still see all subscribers added since the campaign was sent, even if they fall outside the segments used. When sending, the segments are still applied.
Furthermore, you can only send your newsletter to subscribers who have been newly added to the relevant list(s) and fall within the segment(s) used with the newsletter. The date the subscriber subscribed for the list is decisive; it must be after the last time the campaign was sent.
In other words, you cannot send your newsletter to subscribers who were already in your list when the newsletter was sent but did not yet belong to the relevant segment (or segments).
There is a reason for this. Unlike a list, a segment is dynamic. In order to be able to resend a newsletter to existing subscribers who were added to the segment used after the newsletter was sent due to a change, our program would have to store the exact content of the segment at the time of sending in order to be able to compare it with the content of the segment at the time of resending.
In the meantime, however, the criteria for the segment may have changed and/or subscribers may fall within or outside the segment as a result of a change in the subscriber data (e.g. due to profile enrichment).
Therefore, the date a subscriber subscribed to the list is decisive when resending to a segment.
No need to resend a birthday campaign
With a birthday campaign, there is no need to resend your newsletter. In a running campaign, new subscribers automatically receive a birthday e-mail just before or on their birthday.
