What adjustments should I make if I use another language?
By default, all texts in our program are in Dutch. Would you like to use our program for subscribers who speak a different language? This is possible. To do this, observe the points below.
1. Create a separate list for foreign-language subscribers
- You do this on the page Subscribers (All lists).
- You can tick one language for each list. If you want to send newsletters to Dutch-, English-, and German-speaking subscribers, you will need at least three lists.
2. Adjust the language of the list
- You can do this on the page Subscribers → Settings → General.
- Your subscribers will then receive standard messages in the correct language. A standard message, for instance, is the message your subscribers see when they unsubscribe via the unsubscribe link in your newsletter.
3. Edit the field names of the list
- You can do this on the page Subscribers → Settings → Fields.
- The field names are automatically copied in the embedded subscribe form, the stand-alone subscribe form and the edit form.
(By the way: when creating the stand-alone subscribe form and the edit form, you can also change the field names of these forms. For the embedded form, this is only possible on the page mentioned above).
4. If using a stand-alone subscribe form: modify the text of this form
- You can do this on the page Subscribers → Enrich → Subscribe (option 1).
- When using the stand-alone subscribe form, you can draw up the form, the confirmation page (when using double opt-in) and the thank-you page in the correct language. You will also have to adapt the default texts of this form. For example, a standard message will be shown to your subscribers if a field is not filled in or filled in incorrectly.
5. When using an embedded subscribe form: adjust the default texts of this form
- You can do this on the page Subscribers → Enrich → Subscribe (option 2).
6. When using a subscribe form: draw up the welcome email in the correct language
- You can do this on the page Subscribers → Enrich → Subscribe (at the bottom of the page).
- When using a stand-alone and an embedded subscribe form, a welcome email is automatically sent to a new subscriber. This email must be written in the correct language.
7. When using an edit form: modify the text of this form
- You can do this on the page Subscribers → Enrich → Edit.
- When using the change form (needed for profile enrichment), you can draw up the form and the subscribe and thank-you page in the correct language. You will also have to adapt the default texts of this form. For example, a standard message will be shown to your subscribers if a field is not filled in or filled in incorrectly.
8. Adjust the language of the Preheader and Footer (or Advertising) of your newsletter
- You can do this when creating a newsletter campaign in Step 4 by clicking the relevant blocks.
- For the Preheader, go to tab Preheader → Content → 2nd Column. On the bottom left of your screen you can then change the language of the standard text, i.e. the web version link will be set to the correct language.
- For the Footer block (for paid use) or the block Advertising (for free use) click on the block in the newsletter and go to the tab Footer → Content and Advertising → Content respectively. The default texts (including unsubscribe and edit link) can be set in the correct language automatically.

9. Draw up the rest of your newsletter in the correct language
You can write the rest of your newsletter directly in the correct language.
