Can I send a test mail of my newsletter first?
Yes, in Step 4 there is a Test-mail button at the top of the page. When you click this button, you can send your newsletter without having to complete your campaign.
You can send a test mail to yourself, direct colleagues and/or close acquaintances. Keep in mind that you can send your test mail to a maximum of five subscribers.
Always work with test mails
Sending test mails is a great way to test whether you have designed and set up your newsletter to your satisfaction. You draw up a newsletter in Step 4, send a test mail, and make some changes in Step 4. Then send another test mail, make some changes in Step 4 again, and send another test mail, until you are completely satisfied with your newsletter. Only then do you proceed to Steps 5 and 6 to schedule your newsletter for distribution to all your subscribers.
Preferably send test mails to test addresses
If you click on the Testmail button in Step 4, you can work with test addresses and with individual email addresses.
It is preferable to work with test addresses from the list(s) in question. With personalised newsletters, the test mail also contains the correct contact details (such as salutation and first or last name). This way you can check if they are displayed correctly.
Individual email addresses are email addresses that do not appear as test addresses in your list(s). Due to the lack of a specific link to a list, no contact details of these subscribers can be displayed in a newsletter.
Creating test addresses
In your list(s) you can indicate for each subscriber whether the email address may be used for testing in campaigns. You can change this information on the page Subscribers → View (for the relevant subscriber under Details).
It goes without saying that you should at least add your own email address to a list as a test address.
