Can I include a 'Read more' link in my newsletter?
Yes, you can easily add a 'Read more' link to any text field in your newsletter.
If you have a lot of information for your newsletter, there are roughly two options:
1. Include all information in the newsletter
You include all the information in your newsletter. Your newsletter will then be (very) long. If you newsletter is not excessively long, you might consider leaving it like this. Nowadays (with the use of mobile phones) people are used to scrolling vertically.
2. Use a 'Read more' link
For each major topic in your newsletter, you include a short summary or introduction. You end the subject with a 'Read more' link. This link refers to the full information of the topic on your website or intranet.
Alternatively, you can refer to a file containing the full text. This is less common. To view a file, subscribers usually need to click one more time (which is annoying). More important, however, is that if you include the full text on your website, you get to direct your subscribers to your website. This is good, because it is important to keep the threshold to go to your website as low as possible. When reading the rest of your newsletter, your subscribers might click further on your website and return to it more easily the next time.
If you do not want third parties to read the information from your newsletter on your website, you will have to include this information on web pages that are protected (from third parties).
