How do I insert files in my newsletter?

You can upload all sorts of files (Word, Excel, pdf) in Laposta, and make them accessible to your newsletter's recipients with a link.

Creating a text link to a file

To start, you have to have a text block there you want to put the link to your file. If you do not have it yet, you can add it by dragging it into your newsletter.

  • Click in/or the text block, to open the field where you can enter your text (left side of the screen). Select the text you want to insert a link into and click the paperclip-symbol.
  • Click on New file (left side of the screen). Using the Browse button, you can upload the preferred file, with a maximum size of 12MB. Next, click the Save button.
  • Now select the file you have just uploaded. You can now see that the text you selected has become a link.

Creating a link or button to a file

To create a link or a button to a file, you must have uploaded at least one file. You can do this by uploading it to Media (on the page Campaigns > Media > Files).

  • To start, there must be a block or button in your newsletter. If you do not have this yet, you can add it by dragging a Button block into your newsletter.
  • Click the button you want to place a link to. You will see the Content menu on the left side of your screen. Here, you can edit the button's text or add a link. Click 'Or link to file' under the chainlink symbol.
  • Select the requested file and click Save.

The button now links to your file. Your subscriber opens this file in a new window.

Adding a file link to an image

We are currently working on the ability to make a file accessible through an image, the same way you would with a button.

You can already link an image to a file with a bit of a workaround:

  • Go to Media on the page Campaigns > Media > Files.
  • Click 'Add a new file' and select your file through Browse. Then click Save.
  • Put your cursor on the requested file in the overview of all the files you have created, and right-click. Copy the link (in Chrome with Copy link address, and in Edge with Copy link).
  • Now go to the Image or Text block in the (drag & drop) editor, (and if the block was not yet in your newsletter, drag it in now).
  • Click on the image, after which links are shown in the Content submenu on your screen. Paste the link you have copied from Media after the chainlink symbol.
