How do I know that no newsletters have ended up in a spam folder?
Unfortunately, it is not easy to find out to what extent your newsletters have ended up in your subscribers' spam boxes.
When receiving the newsletter, a subscriber's mail server sometimes indicates that it is not accepted because it is spam. This is known as a soft bounce. The email addresses concerned can then be found in the results of your newsletter campaign (on the page Results → Unsubscribes (under Bounces)). With six consecutive soft bounces, a subscriber is automatically removed from your list.
If a subscriber's mailserver does accept your newsletter, it can end up in their mailbox, but also in their spam box. In theory, every accepted newsletter that has not been opened can end up in a spam box (the number of accepted emails minus the number of opened ones).
Email Service Providers (ESP) like Laposta usually do not receive any information from providers if a newsletter is marked as spam by them. The exact operation of spam filters is also deliberately kept secret by providers to prevent spammers from bypassing the filter.
Moreover, each spam filter works differently. Spam filters are often made up of a general part and a part that is more tailored to the individual. So it can happen that one person with a Hotmail account receives your newsletter and another with a Hotmail account does not.
However, we do receive notification from a number of providers if a recipient marks your newsletter as spam. You can see this in Results under Unsubscribes/Complaints.
