Automation building block: Send email
Logically, an automation is almost always used to send one or more emails. By dragging this block in the automation, you can indicate in which step of the automation this should happen.
By clicking the added block, you can select the email you want to send. Have you not yet created emails for this automation? Click 'Create a new email'. You can then compile an email in four steps; check out the instructions for creating an email in an automation here.
Schedule delivery
An example: suppose you want to send a series of emails after a subscription. The first email is sent immediately after subscription. Then you have to wait a week, for which you use the Pause block. After this week, the next email should be sent.
Suppose someone has subscribed late on Sunday evening, and there is a pause of one week, then this next email would also be sent late on Sunday evening. This is not always desirable, for example because you would rather not send an email at such a strange time, or because you think that the chances of it being viewed are greater if the email is sent during the week.
You can indicate this using 'schedule delivery'. To have the email sent only during the week and in the morning, tick the weekdays and select 10.00. The email will then not be sent until Monday at 10 am.
