Sending a series of emails (at intervals)
A series of emails to help new customers get started, a course or training that is offered in parts; it is often useful to prepare a number of emails, that each subscriber receives at specified intervals. To do this, Go to the Automations page and start a new automation.
Start even
You begin by choosing a start event. For a series of emails, this will commonly be subscribing to a list. In that case, you choose 'Subscribe' as the start event. You can set the source to 'Anywhere'; in that case, the automation will always start when someone is added to the list. If you only want the automation to start when someone signs up through a subscribe form, select 'Outside application (form)'.
Building blocks
Next, a first email must be sent. To achieve this, drag the 'Send email' block to the plus icon. You can format the email by clicking the block.
Now, you need to wait for a bit. Drag a 'Pause' block to the plus icon below the email, and set it for the amount of time you want (for instance: 2 days).
You can add the second email underneath this block. It might be wise to indicate when the second emails should be sent out. For example, at 8 o'clock in the morning, on weekdays. You can set this up by clicking the mail block and entering date in 'Schedule delivery'. This way, if someone signs up in the middle of the night, the email will still arrive at an appropriate time.
Do you have more emails? Add another 'Pause' block, and another 'Send email' block, until you're done. You don't have to schedule the deliveries of the new emails, as the waiting period is based on the previous email.
When you are done, head to the Automations overview. There, you can activate the automation. The series will be sent out from that moment on.
