Can I put conditional content in my campaign?
Yes, you can add conditional content to your newsletter. This allows you to send specific content to different target audiences, based on their preferences and/or characteristics, all in one campaign. This (new) functionality is available to all Laposta customers, including people with a free account.
What is conditional content?
The content is virtually all content in your newsletter, such as texts, images, and videos. In Laposta, you always use blocks to add content.
If you only show those blocks when your subscribers meet specific conditions, it is considered conditional content.
With conditional content (also known as variable or dynamic content), you can further personalise your campaign for your subscribers, without having to create different versions. This way, you can send a tailor-made newsletter to all your subscribers that suit their interests, characteristics, and preferences, in one campaign. This is an advanced functionality that can be useful in email marketing, content management, or other applications where the conditional display of content is convenient. It allows you to keep the content dynamic and relevant for different audiences and circumstances.
Example
Suppose you create an internal newsletter for all employees in your organisation. You have entered the position of each employee in an extra 'Position' text field. You want to add two extra text blocks for the directors, compared to the version for other employees, and you want to add an extra image to the version for other employees. Rather than creating two different versions and sending these to segments, the Conditional content option allows you to create one version and send it to the entire list.
In this one campaign, you set up that the blocks for directors can only be shown if the 'Position' field starts with 'Director'. For the image, you enter that the block can only be shown if the 'Position' field does not contain 'Director'. If you send this campaign to the full employee subscriber list, only those marked as 'Director' in your list will see the two extra text blocks, and all other employees will see an extra image instead of those blocks.
