Step 1: Basic data

In step 1 you enter the basic data for your newsletter.

Campaign name

First, give your newsletter campaign a name for internal use. In your account, you will find the campaign name in numerous overviews and statistics. The recipient of your newsletter does not see this name.

Sender

Secondly, you select the sender of your newsletter. Your newsletter is sent via our system and servers. For your subscribers, you naturally want it to look as if it is sent via your own organisation. This is why you are asked which sender name (usually the name of your organisation) and which email address (sender address) may be included. Choose these carefully: your subscribers will also see these details in their mailbox.

Reply address

Next, specify the reply address for your newsletter. A newsletter can be answered (replied to) by your contacts. Under Reply address you can indicate to which email address a reply should be sent. The sender and reply address can be the same, but they do not have to be. For example, you can have responses sent directly to the right person: mrSmith@mywebsite.com.

Subject line

After this, fill out the subject line of your newsletter. This is extremely important and should therefore be considered carefully. You can personalise the subject line and add an emoticon. On the far right side of the bar, you will see a number counting along when you type in a subject line, showing the number of characters of your subject line.
The subject line is the first thing your contacts see in their mailbox from your email. The subject line largely determines the success of your newsletter. A bad subject line can cause your newsletter to get stuck in a spam filter.

Preview text

Now, you enter the preview text. Many email clients display this text next to or near the subject and sender. A good preview text encourages your relations to open and read the newsletter. You can also personalise the preview text and add an emoticon. Read more about the application of the preview text here.

Connect Google Analytics

Finally, you indicate whether you use Google Analytics. If you work with this statistics programme, you can mark that here. Within the statistics of your website, you will then automatically see exactly how many visits were made to your website via your newsletter, in a separate report.
Note: when linking to Google Analytics, links to your own website no longer work properly for some users. Relations will then end up on the homepage instead of an underlying page, for example.
We recommend to always check the links in your newsletter. When filling your template (in Step 4), you can check this via a Preview or by sending a Test mail. You can also test your links in Step 5 (Final check).

Choose a different campaign type

Don't want to start filling in the basic data, but you want to create a different type of campaign? Click on the link ‘Choose a different campaign type’, directly under the heading ‘1. Basic data’. You can then choose whether you (still) want to create a regular campaign, to create a birthday campaign, or to import a newsletter

On to the next step

Have you filled in all the basic details? Then click ‘ Save and to step 2’. You can always go back to step 1 later to adjust items.
