How do I add a new sender address?
You can find an overview of all email addresses that you can use as a forwarding address in your account under Settings → Senders.
In this overview, you can see the status of each email address, potentially read extra information about it, and you can use the Details link to change or remove a sender address, or to change its settings:
The overview above shows different alerts for the imported email addresses:
- You address might not be available yet (and can therefore not be selected in step 1 of the Six-Step Plan), if you have not confirmed it yet. To do so, click the link in the confirmation email you've received directly after adding the email address as a sender address. Through Details, you can also instantly have our system send a new confirmation email.
- If it concerns an email for which the provider has set up DMARC, then the address is not available as a sender or response address.
- If you have not yet authenticated your domain, you are still advised to do this to improve the deliverability of your newsletters. The email address is already available as a sender and response address.
- If you have set that an email address can only be selected as a sender address (and not as a response address), you will see the alert 'Only use as sender address'. You can change this, if desired, by clicking Details.
- If you have set that an email address can only be selected as a response address (and not as a sender address), you will see the alert 'Only use as a response address'. You can change this by clicking on Details.
Adding an extra sender address
Below the email-address overview, click the 'New sender address' button to add an extra or different email address. You can insert the email address in the next window, by which you can directly indicate how the email address may be used in your account:
- without limitations, so as both a sender and response address for campaigns;
- only as a sender address (this address then cannot be selected as a response address in a campaign);
- only as a response address (this address then cannot be selected as a sender address in a campaign).
You can adjust these settings later by clicking Details in the sender address overview. There are no standard limitations set up for your sender addresses.
Confirming sender addresses
To prevent that newsletters are sent from an unknown sender address through Laposta, you must confirm every new sender address beforehand. The confirmation email is sent to the new sender address. You can use Details to resend the confirmation email.
We advise you to send you newsletters from your own domain name - if possible. This is better for your mailing reputation. So if you can, use mynewsletter@mywebsite.com, instead of mywebsite@hotmail.com. After this, it's best to authenticate this domain. If you have not done this yet, you will see an alert in the overview.
This sender address already exists?
Are you trying to add a new sender address, but you get the alert that 'This address already exists'? Then you have already added this email address to your account as a sender address, but you have not confirmed it yet. You will see an alert of this behind the relevant address. Click Details en the button 'Resend confirmation email' to receive this email again.
