How do I set up conditional content?

You can add conditions to any block in your campaign, and therefore make the content conditional. To do so, select the relevant block and click the Conditional content icon.

Please note: if your newsletter is so long that it is automatically split up by Google, it can occur that conditional content blocks will appear in all newsletters.

In the drag & drop editor, this icon is on the top right of the content block:

If you are working with a Joe template, you will find the icon all the way to the left, by the buttons for adding, moving, or deleting blocks:

Next, enter the conditions that must be met for your block to appear. For this, you can use any field in your selected subscriber list(s). If you do not enter anything, the block will be shown to all subscribers you have selected in Step 2 (Select recipients) of creating your campaign.

You can add up to five rules per block. Then, you can choose if 'All rules must be met' (and-function), or if 'One of the rules must be met' (or-function). If you have selected multiple subscriber lists as recipients for your newsletter, you can set this up for each list individually.

Once you have added a condition to a campaign, the Conditional content icon will be yellow. Click the icon again to expand, adjust, or remove the condition(s).

When you check your campaign's Preview, you will see the full campaign, and each block will show how many rules (=conditions) you've applied. Click the button to review the rules.

You can also choose to look at the preview without the rules showing. For this, click 'Hide conditional content' in the preview screen (and in Step 5, Final check).
