Tracking and reporting
Many people find it important to gain insight in the results of sent newsletters. For example, how often a campaign was opened, which links were clicked on, and also by whom exactly. In order to display this data, Laposta records the behaviour of your recipients in several ways. For instance, when opening a newsletter, an invisible image is loaded, and when clicking a link, the reader is first sent through our servers so that we can record who clicks which link. Recording this data represents an invasion of the privacy of the readers of your newsletters, and not everyone is willing to accept this invasion.
To accommodate your wishes of improving your recipients' privacy, we offer numerous settings if you have a subscription. These are explained below.
Option 1: no tracking, maximum privacy
If you choose this option, we will disable all tracking for your newsletters. That means there will be no more invisible images in your newsletters, and no more links going through our servers.
The consequence of this setting is that we can no longer show results about your readers' interaction with your newsletter, except for data about bounces and unsubscribes.
Option 2: tracking without personal results
With this option, we do record all the data, but we only show aggregated results. So there will no longer be any visible data on individual actions.
The consequence of this setting is that we can no longer show results on an individual level; for example, we can still show how often a link was clicked, but no longer by whom exactly.
Option 3: anonymised personal results
With this option, we do record all data, and also show personal results, but without showing the email addresses in question. The email addresses are replaced with a random string of characters. For example, you might still be able to see that someone clicked on a link at 22:14, and that same person clicked on another link at 22:19, but you will no longer be able to see who this person was.
Activate these settings
You (intentionally) cannot activate the aforementioned options in your account yourself, but if you send an email to helpdesk@laposta.nl we will fix it for you.
