How is the price group of your subscription determined?

Your price depends solely on the number of active subscribers in your account. Laposta does not charge any set-up fees or costs for email bundles.

What counts as an active subscriber?

Active subscribers are the subscribers you can send a newsletter to directly. Subscribers who have unsubscribed or have been cleaned after a hard bounce do not count. You can find the full definition in the glossary.

You can create an unlimited number of lists without this affecting your price. Laposta adds up the active subscribers from all your lists. If the same email address is in two lists, it counts twice, because lists do not share subscriber data with each other.

You can use Laposta for free for up to and including 2000 subscribers (both active and unique). If you exceed this limit, your account will not be converted automatically: you can choose to take out a subscription or purchase mailcredits yourself. You can read more about this limit under Limits of the free account.

If you want to reduce the number of active subscribers, read how you can delete inactive subscribers. Deleting subscribers or lists for the sole purpose of staying below the free limit is not permitted.

How does the allocation to a price group work?

When you take out a paid subscription, Laposta places you in a price group based on the number of active subscribers you have or expect to get. You will then receive an invoice for the amount corresponding to that price group. You can find the amounts per price group in Laposta pricing.

If you import subscribers on a large scale during the subscription year and appear to end up at least four price groups (or 500 euros excluding VAT) higher, Laposta may send you an additional invoice during that year. This prevents you from having to pay a large amount in arrears.

Settlement and renewal

At the end of the subscription year, Laposta determines the average number of active subscribers you had during that year. If you end up in a higher price group, you will pay the difference between the two price groups in arrears. If you end up in a lower price group, you will be refunded the difference.

If you delete a list within 30 days of creating it, that list will still count for 30 days when calculating the average number of active subscribers.

Upon renewal of your subscription, Laposta uses the average number of active subscribers from the previous subscription year. At the end of that year, Laposta will again check whether you were placed in the right group. If you were in a price group that was too low, you will pay the difference. If you were placed too high, any overpayment will be refunded.

After logging in, you can find the average number of active subscribers per month and the annual average based on this in your account under ‘Subscription’.
