Placing the code on your website

A single line of JavaScript is enough to display the form on your website. You will see this line on the main page of the form immediately after clicking on ‘Start’, and also later once you have configured the form. Copy the code to the location on your website where you want the form to appear.

Click on ‘Configure’ to open the editor where you can set up the content and the design.

Putting changes live

If you edit a form that is already on your website, those changes are not immediately visible to your visitors. They will only see the new version once you click on ‘Put changes live’.

Temporarily hiding the form

If you want to remove the form from your site for a while, you do not need to delete the JavaScript code. On the main page, click on ‘Stop showing the form’. Click on ‘Make the form visible again’ to bring it back.

WordPress: placing the form using the plugin

If you use WordPress, you do not need the JavaScript code. With the Laposta Signup Embed plugin, you can place the form on your site, or use a shortcode to display it on specific pages.

The error message ‘list_id is missing’

This message almost always means that the shortcode was not pasted as a shortcode. Both the default WordPress editor and the editors of most themes have a dedicated block for this. If the shortcode is placed in a regular text block instead, check the text view (the ‘Text’ tab or the ‘Edit as HTML’ option) to make sure the formatting is still correct. Sometimes formatting code is added to your shortcode, which prevents the list_id from being read.
