Why are the links in my newsletter not working after connecting Google Analytics?

In very rare cases, the links in your test email and newsletter may no longer work properly after connecting Google Analytics. Subscribers might, for example, end up on your homepage instead of a specific underlying page.

If this happens, please contact your web developer. Your website should not have any issues with the widely used piece of code that Laposta automatically adds to your links.

If necessary, you can disable the connection with Google Analytics in step 1 of your campaign. The links in your newsletter will then work properly again. However, you will no longer be able to see in Google Analytics how many visitors came to your website via your newsletter.

How does the connection with Google Analytics work?

Analytics programmes such as Google Analytics record the source of website visitors using variables that are added to the URL of your web pages.

If you tick the box in step 1 of a campaign to indicate that you use Google Analytics, Laposta automatically appends these ‘utm codes’ to all links (URLs) in your newsletter. The Google Analytics tracking code on your web page then reads these codes. You can see which codes and values Laposta adds in the table under Connect Google Analytics.
