Sending a webhook to an external system

With a webhook, you can automatically call another system from your automation. As soon as a subscriber reaches the ‘Webhook’ block in your automation, Laposta calls the specified address. Along with this, Laposta sends information about the event (which automation, which step) and, if you tick the option, the subscriber’s details (email address and any other fields).

You can read how to build an automation and place actions in Start your first automation.

1

Place the block in your automation

Drag the ‘Webhook’ block to the desired spot in your automation.

2

Give the webhook a name

Under ‘Name’, enter a custom name for the webhook. This name is sent along with the call.

3

Enter the web address

Under ‘URL’, specify the address that Laposta should call.

4

Send subscriber data

Under ‘Content’, tick whether you want to send the subscriber’s details along.

Processing the call and verifying the secret

The call is an HTTP POST with the data as JSON in the body.

With every call, Laposta sends a secret: this is the long green code in the block’s settings. Verify this value in the script that receives the call. This way, you know that the call comes from Laposta and not from someone else, such as a spambot.
