Adding or removing labels in an automation

Drag this action to the point in your automation where a subscriber should be given a label or have one removed. The action takes place as soon as the subscriber reaches the block.

You can configure three things in this action:

Setting	What you choose
List	The list the subscriber must come from. You select this from a drop-down list.
What do you want to do?	Whether you want to add or remove labels.
Which labels?	The labels you want to add or remove. You can choose from the existing labels in the list.

You cannot create new labels here. You can create them in advance in the list itself, via Subscribers → your list → Labels.

Depending on the starting point, a subscriber in an automation can come from different lists. If the subscriber comes from a list other than the one you select here, this action is ignored. If you want to add or remove labels for multiple lists, you can place a separate action for each list.

If you want an automation to start at the moment someone is given a label, do not choose this action, but the ‘Add label’ starting point instead. You can read how to place and order actions in an automation in Start your first automation.
