Editing a field value in an automation

Drag the ‘Change’ action to the place in your automation where a subscriber’s field needs to be given a different value. As soon as the subscriber reaches the block, the field is updated.

You enter three settings for this action:

Setting	What you choose
List	Select the list from the drop-down menu that the subscriber must come from.
Field	Select the field from the drop-down menu that needs to be changed.
Changes to	Type the new value that the field will receive in the input box.

Depending on the starting point, a subscriber in an automation can come from different lists. If the subscriber comes from a list other than the list you have selected here, this action will be ignored. If you want to change a field for multiple lists, place a separate action for each list.

If you want a subscriber to be able to edit their own details, do not use this action, but use the edit form of profile enrichment instead. You can read more about placing and ordering actions in Start your first automation.
