Setting up a logo next to your sender name with Gravatar

Many email clients, such as Gmail and Apple Mail, show a logo or profile picture next to the sender’s name. Laposta does not send this image along with your email. Instead, your recipient’s email client retrieves it directly using the sender address. Because of this, you can only set this up outside of Laposta.

The easiest and most widely used way to do this is through Gravatar, a free service from the company behind WordPress.

1

Create a free Gravatar profile

Go to gravatar.com and click ‘Claim your free profile’.

2

Add your sender address

Add the email address you use as a sender address in Laposta to your profile.

3

Upload your logo or profile picture

Choose the image you want to show next to your name. From that moment on, it will be linked to your email address.

Email clients that use Gravatar will then automatically display your image in the inbox.

It may take a while before the image is visible everywhere, and not every email client uses Gravatar. For example, Gmail often checks the profile picture of a Google account or Google Workspace account linked to the address first.
