Configuring a separate reply-to address for replies from subscribers

The address that receives replies from subscribers is separate from the sender address they see in their inbox. This can be the same email address, but it does not have to be.

When creating a campaign, you can choose in step 1 whether you also want to use your sender address as the reply-to address. If you choose a different reply-to address, it must be an existing email address.

Receiving replies at a different address

Suppose you send your newsletter from info@mysite.co.uk and your colleague Pauline Paulusma handles the responses. You can then select her address (p.paulusma@mysite.co.uk) as the reply-to address. Your subscribers will see in their inbox that the newsletter comes from info@mysite.co.uk, while their replies will arrive in Pauline’s inbox without your subscribers noticing.

Via Settings → Sender addresses, you can configure for each added email address whether you want to use it by default only as a sender address, only as a reply-to address, or for both.

Receiving fewer reply emails

Do you send large numbers of newsletters and do you or your colleagues not have time to read all the replies? Then you can create a no-reply address. Just like any other reply-to address, this must be an existing email address. With a no-reply address, you will receive fewer reply emails. Any replies that still come in can be collected in a separate folder and deleted. You can also set up an autoresponder on it, so that your subscribers automatically receive a response.

Replies to your newsletter are also an opportunity to get in touch with your subscribers. Keep this in mind before setting up a no-reply address.
