Viewing opens and clicks per campaign
Laposta tracks five types of data for every sent newsletter:
From these numbers, Laposta also calculates an acceptance, open, click, and unsubscribe rate. You can read where to find these percentages and how to compare campaigns with each other in Reading the results of sent campaigns. Keep in mind that the open rate is skewed by email clients and security filters that open your newsletter themselves: see Why you see many opens for the same address and Clicks by scanners.
In addition to the figures per campaign, Laposta also tracks this data per list and per subscriber. For automations, you can see this under Results of an automation.
Viewing opens and clicks
All actions by your subscribers are divided into two groups. Under ‘Opens’, you will find everything directly or indirectly related to viewing your newsletter, and under ‘Clicks’, everything related to clicking in your newsletter.
For every action, from opening the email to viewing the webversion, you get a distribution chart. This also includes the email address of every subscriber for whom this was recorded. This means you not only see how often your newsletter was opened or clicked, but also by whom. You can also view the data in pie charts and tables.
Only the personalised webversion in your newsletter generates statistics. Visits via the general webversion link are not recorded.
Viewing which links were clicked
Under clicks, you can see how often each link was clicked. This tells you how many subscribers clicked through to your website, viewed your files, or clicked on one of your social media buttons. If you want to see those clicks in context, go to Results → Campaigns → Links → ‘Overlay’. There, the clicks are displayed as a layer over your newsletter.
Clicks on a mailto: link are not recorded. Such a link directly opens the email client on your subscriber’s computer. With regular links, Laposta can measure a click via its own servers, but this is not possible with mailto: links.
Exporting figures to Excel
You can download the results to view them further in Excel. To do this, click on ‘Export to Excel’ below the chart, under ‘All actions’.
