Finding and sharing the webversion of your sent newsletter
Every sent campaign is also available online as a regular web page. The address of that page, the webversion link, does not contain any personal details. You can place this link anywhere you want to show your newsletter: on your own website, on someone else’s site, in an archive overview or on social media.
Are you looking for the link that allows recipients to open the webversion themselves from within your newsletter? In the drag & drop editor, you can find this under the default links. If you are working in a custom HTML template, you can place it using the lp-webversion tag.
Finding the webversion link
The link is not shown as text in your account. You open the webversion and copy the address from your browser.
Every webversion link has this structure:
https://johnsmithcompany.email-provider.nl/web/x0adxahhni/pgz7wvola
You can read how to place your sent newsletters on your own site in Archive page on your website.
Sharing the link on social media
On channels such as Facebook, X (formerly Twitter) and LinkedIn, you can simply paste the same webversion link into your post.
If you find the link too long to share externally, you can shorten it using a URL shortener, such as the well-known service from Bitly. Such services also keep statistics, so you can see how often the link has been clicked.
If you want your subscribers to forward the webversion themselves, add a mail-a-friend link to your newsletter. You can read how to do this under Having your newsletter forwarded by your subscribers.
Clicks in the webversion do not count
Clicks on links within the webversion are not measured. You will therefore not see them under ‘Results’. If a subscriber clicks the link to the webversion in the newsletter they received, that click is measured and shown in the results.
Sharing a personalised newsletter
If you have personalised your newsletter, you will see the personalisation codes in the general webversion. At the top, for example, it will say ‘Dear {{voornaam}} {{achternaam}},’. If you do not want this, you have three options:
- Use the link from the newsletter you sent to yourself. However, this will contain your own details, which looks untidy on a public page.
- Download the HTML, edit it and upload the file to your own server.
- Make a copy of the sent newsletter, remove the personalisation from that copy and share the webversion of this version.
