When should you choose a dedicated IP-address for delivery?
Normally, you share an IP-address with other Laposta customers. If you send to a large number of subscribers, it may be worthwhile to send your newsletters from a dedicated IP-address. With separate IP-addresses, you build up your own sending reputation.
When a dedicated IP-address is worthwhile
A sending reputation is built through volume. If only a few newsletters are sent via an IP-address, the volume is too small and the rating usually remains ‘neutral’. This is not as good as the reputation of Laposta’s shared IP-addresses: Laposta goes to great lengths to ensure only good emails are sent, which results in a very good score. A dedicated IP-address is therefore only worthwhile from around 20,000 emails per month.
Costs and requesting dedicated IP-addresses
Laposta always provides you with two IP-addresses, hosted on different machines. This ensures your IP-addresses remain available at all times.
Laposta warms up the new IP-addresses first. They run alongside the main cluster for several weeks, so that receiving mail servers learn to trust the addresses.
