Adding and confirming a sender address
Every email address you want to use as a sender or reply-to address must first be added to your account under Settings → Senders. On that page, you can also see for each address whether it is available and what still needs to be done. Via ‘Details’, you can edit the settings of an address or delete the address.

Messages in the Additional info column
The ‘Additional info’ column shows why an address is not yet available, or what you should pay attention to:
- ‘This address has not been confirmed yet’: you cannot select the address in step 1 of a campaign yet. Click on the link in the confirmation email that was sent to the new address immediately after adding it.
- ‘You must first set up authentication for this address’: your email provider has configured DMARC, which makes authentication mandatory. Until you have done this, you can no longer use this sender address. Follow the step-by-step plan to set up authentication.
- ‘Improve delivery by setting up authentication’: authentication is not mandatory here, but is strongly recommended. If there is a green tick under ‘Available’, you can still use the address, though there is a greater chance that your campaigns will not arrive (properly) for your subscribers.
- ‘Can only be used as a sending address’: you have configured this address so that it cannot be selected as a reply-to address.
- ‘Can only be used as a reply-to address’: you have configured this address so that it cannot be selected as a sender address.
- ‘To help your newsletters arrive properly we change this address’: you are using a free email address. This is permitted, and the message shows which address Laposta changes it to when sending.
If you see a message while preparing a campaign rather than in this overview, please refer to the message that your sender address is not in order.
Adding a new sender address
To prevent newsletters from being sent from an unknown sender via Laposta, you must first confirm each new address. Only then can you select it in a campaign.
Enter the address and choose how you want to use it
Enter the address under ‘Email address’ and choose how it may be used in your account:
- ‘No restrictions’ (default): as a sender address and as a reply-to address for campaigns.
- ‘Can only be used as a sending address’: this address cannot be selected as a reply-to address in a campaign.
- ‘Can only be used as a reply-to address’: this address cannot be selected as a sender address in a campaign.
You can change this choice later via ‘Details’.

If you send from your own domain name, which is better for your sending reputation than a private or webmail address, the next step is authenticating that domain. Until you have done so, you will see a message about this in the overview.
Resending the confirmation email
Did the confirmation email not arrive, or do you get the message ‘This address already exists’ when adding it? If you see this message, the address is already in your account, but has not been confirmed yet.
In the overview, click on ‘Details’ next to the address and then on ‘Resend confirmation email’.
