Moving subscribers to another list

Moving a single subscriber

You can copy the subscriber’s details and paste them into the new list. You can then remove the subscriber from the original list: select that list, tick the subscriber and click on ‘Delete selection’.

Do you want to delete multiple subscribers at once? Tick them all before clicking on ‘Delete selection’.

Moving a large group of subscribers

If you want to move a large number of subscribers, for example because you imported an Excel file into the wrong list and want to keep the subscribers that were already in it, you can transfer the group by exporting and re-importing them.

1

Export the entire list to Excel

Export your subscriber data to an Excel file.

2

Split the file

Filter your subscriber file in Excel or Google Sheets and split it into two files (.csv or .xls): one file with the subscribers you want to move and one with the subscribers that should remain in this list.

3

Empty the list

Go to the ‘Subscribers’ overview page and click on ‘Empty’ in the block for the list. You can read what happens next under Emptying a list.

The subscribers will be deleted from the list and will only reappear after you have re-imported them in the next step. Therefore, check first whether the export from step 1 is complete. After emptying the list, the subscribers will remain on the ‘deleted’ tab for 30 days, where you can restore them if necessary.

4

Import the files into the right lists

Now import the two files into the right lists.
