Viewing a preview of your newsletter

While working on your newsletter, you can check how it looks online along the way. To do this, click on ‘Preview’ at the top of the page in step 4.

The toolbar above step 4 with the Preview button highlighted

Switching between desktop and mobile

When the preview is open, you can use the monitor and phone icons in the top right corner to switch between the display on a regular computer and on mobile. These two differ from each other: on mobile, the preheader is not shown by default, and blocks that you have set for desktop only are not shown. You can read how to set this up for each block in Formatting for desktop or mobile display.

What you cannot use the preview for

The preview shows the formatting of your newsletter in your browser. In your subscriber’s inbox, the email client determines how that formatting is displayed, and that often differs slightly. If you want to see how your newsletter really looks in Gmail, Outlook or on a phone, send a testmail. You can read where the differences come from in Why your newsletter differs from the preview.

In the preview, you cannot test whether your links work. You can check this during the last check in step 5, where you can see at the bottom of the page whether all links are working properly.
